Generac LP3250 Portable Generator Brings Propane Advantages to the Job Site

WASHINGTON (Jan. 17, 2013) – Powering electric tools on the job site just got easier with the introduction of the Generac LP3250 portable generator. The propane-fueled 3.25 kW portable generator features an integrated tank and mounted wheels for easy portability.

Many portable generators in the marketplace have a propane tank that needs to be manually carried and placed next to the generator when it's in use. With the Generac LP3250 portable generator, the propane tank is integrated into the frame, eliminating manual tank handling.

The Generac LP3250 portable generator was brought to market with the support of the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC). PERC promotes the safe, efficient use of odorized propane gas as a preferred energy resource through research and development, training, and safety programs.

"This new portable unit adds to Generac's impressive generator portfolio," said Bridget Scanlon, director of residential and commercial programs for PERC. "The LP3250 brings greater portability and reliable power to the builder who wants to use propane on the job site."

Builders can benefit from using propane-fueled equipment like the Generac LP3250 in several ways. Unlike gasoline, propane does not degrade over time, virtually eliminating performance problems related to fuel quality. Propane also emits fewer carbon dioxide emissions and toxic pollutants than gasoline, improving the air quality for the crew on the job site. Finally, in many cases, propane fuel costs less than gasoline, improving builder profit margins.

Builders attending the 2013 International Builders' Show will have a chance to win one of three Generac LP3250 portable generators by visiting PERC's booth, C2614. PERC will also be previewing the Generac LP5500 portable generator. This 5.5 kW unit features an innovative new dolly-style frame for easy portability. Primarily designed for emergency backup power, the LP5500 can also be used for events or on the job site.
